We're really loving the Raya collections showcased by our very own homegrown designers this year. Needless to say we were blown away by their talent - we found ourselves practically frothing at the mouth oggling at their amazing lookbooks and going oooh and aaah over how talented designers like Rizman Ruzaini and Izrin Iz of Innai Red, just to name a few, had put their creative twist on the traditional baju kebaya, kurung, and caftans to produce modern, covetable and totally wearable pieces.

It was also hard not to get excited about recent collaborations between the creme de la creme of Malaysian fashion talents namely Rizalman Ibrahim, Jovian Mandagie and Radzuan Radziwill with various mass and online retailers to produce budget-friendly Raya lines.  Perhaps inspired by the hysteria-inducing collaborations overseas such as Lanvin Hearts H&M, and Missoni for Target, for the first time ever, high fashion has gone high street in Malaysia! We think this is a massive step forward for the fashion industry, and a business savvy decision which can keep consumers happy and craving for more.  Definitely a win-win situation for everyone. Apparently these designer collaborations were all astounding successes, so here's hoping to many more! Exciting times are ahead for Malaysian fashion, that's for sure. We can just feel it in our bones.
