Nicole Richie has come a long way since her days as Paris Hilton’s sidekick and a Hollywood brat who was (in)famous for simply being famous. Nicole's made a 180 degree turn and today she's become a multi-tasking A-lister: actress/author/wife/mom of 2 kids and an influential style icon not to be taken lightly. As if that’s not enough, she’s also got two successful fashion ventures under her stylish belt, namely Winter Kate, her clothing line, and House of Harlow 1960, which includes jewelry, shoes, and handbags. She's even designed a capsule collection for A Pea in the Pod maternity line! Nicole is best known for her modern day hippie style and glamorous vintage-inspired sensibility. She can be partly credited for making super-large shades uber cool, vintage fashion current, and printed maxi dresses a must-have wardrobe staple. She also practically ushered in the return of headscarves (particularly vintage Pucci, Missoni and Hermes). Best of all, Nicole’s style is so easy, comfortable and chic – little wonder every young fashionista worth her salt wants to follow in her trend-setting sartorial footsteps.

If you'd go to the ends of the earth for the ever evolving, invariably stylish Nicole Richie’s wardrobe, then look no further. We've got some great deals on some great threads to enable you to recreate some of Nicole’s looks and help you channel your inner boho chic-of-a-child. Read on and sweep!

A New York Times article suggested that increased use in bold colour is a sign of economic optimism. “The profusion of hothouse colors and patterns popping up on New York streets suggests a new buoyancy, as women shake off the constraints of a lingering recession and stock up on fashions more lively and vivid than they’ve seen in years,” claims reporter Ruth La Ferla. During economic downturns, consumers will steer towards neutral shades, utilitarianism and simpler silhouettes. But the state of the global economy has picked up over the last year so little wonder that one of the biggest current trends around is loud color.   The styles both shown on the runways and worn by attendees during the recent Paris Fashion Week is a case in point. According to consumer psychologists, bright colors actualise what consumers want to feel: reborn, renewed, fresh, and even a little bit risky.  The colours also represent hope and optimism for a brighter future. We all can use a little bit of that :)

Bright pops of colours may not magically and immediately change the state of our current affairs (or current accounts, that's for sure!), but they can definitely liven up your mood, your day and your outlook. While we totally understand that there are days when you just feel like blending into the background - we have them too; today’s not one of them. Why settle for boring when you can check out our Crayola cocktail of vividly hued separates to give your ensemble just the right dash of of-the-moment flair. Bright colors are not so tricky to wear as you would imagine - the key is to keep a balance. You'll look modern and amazing - the way you should!

1. Sinequanone V-Neck Double Layer Mesh Top (AC 83)
Go for bold! Punch up your wardrobe with a colour block combo of teal and turquoise.  If the bold colours are a slight departure from your normal colour palette, pair them with khaki, white or denim - problem solved (and you'll even be the better for it)! Sinequanone double-layered mesh top in teal and turquoise has a V-neck, cuffed three quarter length sleeves and simply slips on. Made in France. Size 38. 100% Polyamide. Priced at RM60.

2. MNG Boat-Neck Knit Top (AC224)
Bring a spot of sunshine and a little burst of colour to your ensemble with this not-so-mellow yellow top in the softest cotton knit from MNG. The ombre effect ie how the yellow tones graduate from strong to soft from the bottom up, adds dimension to this simple silhouette. It is also a more subtle but no less effective option of wearing the trend. Top has boat neck, three quarter length sleeves and simply slips on. Size M. 100% Cotton. Priced at RM40.

3. Versace Jeans Couture sleeveless batwing top (AC114)
Bring on the brights! Infuse your look with vibrant color with Versace’s chartreuse satin-knit top with a draped cowl neck and slit batwing sleeves. Ground the bright hue with a neutral-coloured skirt or pants (suggestion: grey or khaki), and heels to work the designer's signature aesthetic. Simply slips on. Never been worn. Tag still intact. Size M. 80% viscose 20% polymide. Made in Italy. Priced at RM250. A really great vintage piece!
